We shun labels in favor of careful, rational thought and reasoned argument. Opinions are not rejected because they come from the left or the right. But the truth is biased against lies, and we do not give harbor to falsehoods masquerading as opinion.
To be a moderate in the 2020s is to recognize there are good ideas rooted in a conservative worldview and good ideas rooted in a liberal one. Common ground is easiest when you dismiss the labels and the preconceptions that come with them. So let’s start there.
But what about…?
If you don’t see what you’re looking for, drop us a line (rafael@TheModerateExtremist.com) and make a recommendation. Some omissions are deliberate. Most are not. People and news organizations are not being included for being centrist. They’re being included for being factual and valuing evidence. No one is being excluded for being liberal or conservative, but we’re being wary of organizations and pundits that have shown a willingness to alter the facts to suit a narrative. Writers will disagree with each other and with us, and that’s acceptable. We’re not including Fox News, for example, but we may highlight the Fox version of a developing story when warranted.

Will Republicans give Biden a chance to lead?
Republican congressional leadership, and many right-wing commentators, didn’t honor the Obama-Biden victories in 2008 or 2012. They never wished them well during their eight years of service. Instead, they looked for every opportunity to obstruct their leadership.
And, Colbert King fears, it’s going to be like that again.
